Formed out of a long-standing collective ministry center, known as the Campus Christian Center, or C3, and relating to issues of justice, care for the poor, etc. at Arizona State, this center is largely for the purpose of studying issues of science and religion through co-sponsored events and working groups at Arizona State University. The Center’s board is planning to broaden its focus to include programs in all disciplines of the University.

The mission of ASU is to establish the school as the model for a New American University, measured not by who they exclude, but rather by who they include; pursuing research and discovery that benefits the public good; assuming major responsibility for the economic, social, and cultural vitality and health and well-being of the community. In following its vision, ASU strives to demonstrate American leadership in academic excellence and accessibility; establish national standing in academic quality and impact in colleges and school in every field; establish ASU at a global center for interdisciplinary research, discovery and development by 2020; enhance its local impact and social embeddedness.
